Add activities to an apprenticeship course

Before you begin, ensure you have created the course, and added the competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Behaviours, and Others) to it, so that you can link these to the activities.
Important Note: An Activity MUST be linked to a Unit.

When you're ready to start adding activities, follow the steps below:

Step 2: Click Edit in the Actions column.

Step 3: From the Edit Course window, click on the Activities tab.

Step 4: Click the + Add Activity button.

Step 5: Complete the Details tab on the + Add Activity pop-up (see table below for further guidance).

| Title | Mandatory, free text | Input the name of the activity. |
| Unit | Mandatory, dropdown | Select the relevant Unit name (you will have created Units when you added your KSBOs) from the dropdown to link the KSBOs from that Unit to the activity. |
| Days Permitted | Mandatory, number field | Input the number of days that this activitiy will be available to the learner to complete, e.g. 14. |
| Start Day | Mandatory, number field | Input the number of days after the start of the Apprenticeship Course, when this Activity will be available to the learner to complete. See Note 1 below. |
| Type of Activity | Non-mandatory, dropdown | Select tye type of activity, e.g. Assignment or Project Work, from the dropdown. |
| Additional Information | Non-mandatory, free text | Use this space to add information about the activity. |
| Instructions | Mandatory, free text | Use this space to outline exactly what the learner is expected to do, including any resources they should use (you will add resources on the Resources tab), tasks to complete, or evidence to upload. Well-written instructions will help the learner understand what’s required and complete the activity independently and confidently. |
| Guided Learning Hours | Non-mandatory, time field | Add the estimated time for this activity (when the learner completes the activity, the specified guided learning hours are automatically assigned to their record) and included in their off-the-job hours. |
| Delivery Location | Non-mandatory dropdown | Select the location where this activity will be completed from, e.g. Employer Address, from the dropdown. |
| Employer Review? | Non-mandatory, checkbox | Tick this box if you'd like the employer to review the work completed by the learner. |
| Key Date? | Non-mandatory, checkbox | Tick this box if you'd like the activity to appear as a Key Date in the learner's Calendar. |
| Make Dependent | Non-mandatory, dropdown multi-select | Set one or more existing activities as prerequisites. The learner will only be able to start this activity after they have completed all selected dependent activities. |


Step 7: Select any relevant competencies (that you expect the learner to demonstrate when they submit their work for this activity) on the KSB tab by clicking on either the 'Select All' checkbox (to select all KSBs linked to the Unit), or click the dropdown(s) to display the linked KSBs and tick the relevant ones for this activity individually.

Note: If you see the message 'Please select a Unit to see KSBs' on the KSB Tab, please go back to the Details tab and select a Unit.
Step 8: Click Save.
Once you have clicked Save, the activity will be listed in the table on the Activities page.
